Moving Cobb Forward
The Cobb Business Alliance educates the community on innovative solutions that help move Cobb County forward.
Our Mission
The Cobb Business Alliance works to educate voters about innovative solutions that move our county forward—including investing in transportation and infrastructure projects that keep pace with continued growth. The Mobility Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (MSPLOST), which is on the General Election ballot on November 5th, 2024, provides an opportunity for voters to make their opinions known.
The MSPLOST is a 30-year, one-cent sales tax that, if approved, will raise over $11 billion for transportation and infrastructure projects across Cobb County. These projects aim to address mobility needs, traffic congestion, and infrastructure improvements in response to the growing population and local economy.

Ballot Language
The MSPLOST ballot question will appear at the end of the ballot for all Cobb County voters.
One Percent County Mobility Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (MSPLOST):
Shall a special 1 percent sales and use tax be imposed in the special district consisting of Cobb County for a period of time not to exceed thirty years and for the raising of funds for transit and transit supportive projects? These projects will be as defined in O.C.G.A. § 48-8- 269.40, and will be inclusive of the approved project list within the Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority Regional Transit Plan (ARTP).
If imposition of the tax is approved by the voters, such vote shall constitute approval of the issuance of general obligation debt of Cobb County in the principal amount not to exceed $950,000,000 for the above purpose.
MSPLOST Impacts
Reduced Congestion
MSPLOST would fund and operate multi-modal transportation projects that would result in reduced congestion and better travel times throughout the county.
Smart Signals
MSPLOST funds would be used to synchronize traffic signals for a better traffic flow and reduced wait times.
Regional Connectivity
MSPLOST would fund 7 different regional bus routes connecting Cobb County to Roswell, Dunwoody, Midtown, Downtown, and 3 MARTA stations (Dunwoody, H.E. Holmes, and Arts Center).
County-wide Microtransit
County-wide microtransit would provide on-demand shuttle service for Cobb residents to nearby destinations including grocery stores, senior centers, health clinics, parks, shopping, and restaurants.
Economic Development
Easing congestion will increase Cobb County’s competitiveness and create more job opportunities.
Biking and Walking Upgrades
MSPLOST would provide a significant network of safe bike lanes and sidewalks, enabling bikers and pedestrians safe access to transit-connected destinations.
